Louisiana Economic Development and the U.S. Small Business Administration on Wednesday honored all of the winners in 17 categories at a private reception held at the Governor’s Mansion.
Advantage Personnel was named Louisiana PTAC Contractor of the Year, with Suzette Freeman, Janet Berry and Carrie Harper receiving the honor on behalf of the Baton Rouge firm.
“We are pleased to recognize these enterprising and innovative business leaders, especially at this time in the middle of National Small Business Week,” LED Secretary Don Pierson says in a statement. “Small businesses account for more than 97 percent of all employers in Louisiana. They provide jobs to more than 900,000 of our state’s residents.”

Thirty years ago on Oct. 7, 1985, Suzette Kleinpeter Freeman and her late husband, Larry Freeman, started Advantage Personnel and opened doors of opportunity to job seekers in the Baton Rouge area.
